Welcome to Victoria Park Junior Bowls website

We are excited to be setting up a Junior Bowls section in our club. This is your chance to meet with other kids who want be part of an up and coming sport for kids. Bowls is a summer sport so we would like to start coaching late September to prepare for the summer competitions. One of the aims of Junior Bowls will be to form one or more Junior Bowling Teams to represent Vic Park at junior competition level. This is when you compete against other clubs in Singles, Pairs and Fours. We hope to be able to work with you to build up the Junior Club to have the skills to be strong competitors in the State Competitions.

If you learn to bowl at a young age, apart from the fun and the camaraderie you could end up being part of a champion team. If you are between 12 and 18 years of age, male or female, you are invited to come along to see how you like it. You could bring your brothers, sisters and friends. And don’t worry it won’t cost much money.

We will be organizing coaching sessions for a weekday evening and one day of the weekend. If you want to get more practice and training on other days you will be able to come down to the club for a game or as an individual to practice and pick up tips from senior players who are usually willing to pass on their knowledge.

As a club member you are allowed to bring your friends and family down to play, have fun, show and teach them your skills. You’ll probably be able to beat your Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s not all hard work, the Clubrooms sell soft drinks and chips and we often have raffles which you might win if you want to risk your money for a pack of meat or prawns.

If you get really good at or show good bowling potential, on occasions you could be selected to play in the Senior Saturday competition called ‘Pennants’. Pennants go all summer every Saturday with ‘home’ and ‘away’ games. Vic Park has a Premier Team which plays in Division Red, the top division in Perth and also teams in the second and third divisions. So you can see, this will give you the opportunity to progress all the way up through the ranks to top division.

Vic Park is the first club to have won the Novice Single State Championships two years in a row (for the last 2 years). A novice is a beginner and can play in the competition for the first two years of playing the sport. Come along and make it a third year in a row that we win the trophy.
