Touch of
Style
13th, 14thand 15th May,
2009
The
Twelfth
annual Touch of Style ladies bowls event was held on the 13th
14th
and 15th May at Victoria Park/Carlisle Bowling Club.
This prestigious event is sponsored by the
Burswood Entertainment Complex. The
event is the richest in prize money and possibly the most popular
tournament in
ladies bowls in W.A.
The
event
included 192 of the state’s top metropolitan and country bowlers, and
was won
by Nola Svenson (Skip from Cockburn), Lesley Hunt (Third from Halls
Head), Marj
Dellavanzo (second from Bedford) and Erica Vermeer (lead from Denison).
The
perpetual shield was presented by Renate Coote, last year’s winning
skip.
Prizes were
presented by Burswood Events Coordinator Jodie Howells |
Second place
went to Anne Evans (Mundaring), Eileen Lee (Wonthella), Annie Washenko
(Mt
Pleasant) and Patsy Smith (Halls Head).
Third
place
winners were Leta Ryan (Wonthella), Rinske Butcher (North Beach),
Shirley Hall
(Harvey) and Lena Jolley (Halls Head).
Fourth
place
went to Susan Reid (Yokine), Margaret Smyth (Capel), Gwen Williams
(Bedford)
and Lena Jolley (Halls Head).
This
event is
unique in that country and city players were placed together and this
created a
great spirit of friendship and camaraderie and the ladies take the
opportunity
to visit Burswood Entertainment Complex at every opportunity.
